You should know the difference between a Android TV box and Android TV. This Xiaomi is a Android TV which is officially certified by Google, that means you will receive updates and support for your apps, Chromecast works really well, but in the other hand a Android TV box is not going to give any update or support for your apps like Netflix, I bought a different a Android tv box last year, what a waste of money I wish I would’ve known about this before, I highly recommend you update to Android 9.0 before you install anything, I don’t get why some people complain The device is really small and fast, it’s not the fastest Android TV in the market but it’s really smooth for only $50

Im not sure why the person in the review below had an issue with the speed or using Hulu. Need hulu just download it like any other app and it works perfectly. I have firestick 4ks on every TV but have a google home system throughout my house. This box rocks in comparison. ZERO ads on the main screen, just a smart layout with your apps and where you are on your current episodes (it shows your netflix shows on the main screen). It has zero lag, zero. The firestick would sometimes stick and then spit out all the remote presses at one time. Did I mention ZERO ADS for shows etc or prime video, just your apps. Integrates with Google Home so you can speak to open netflix, pause, rewind, turn off/on, volume up/down. The only negatives are there are no fwd/rev/pause buttons directly on the remote which means you have to press the main button then use the screen icons to go back/fwd/pause. I also had an issue with one TV and the CEC functions that work to have the box control the TV/AMP power. It works great on my Phillips TV but randomly turns the TV off with the MI remote power button on my TCL Roku TV. All in all, a fast, responsive box that is no frills, just pure google tv. Also the menu button on the remote brings up your apps in a window over what you are watching so you can switch between them instead of leaving one, going to another, going back and starting all over on the first. Great feature.

I’ve really been enjoying this box so far. The firey alternative was beginning to get much to slow for me and it was driving us NUTS. We wanted something with Android TV instead of a generic tv-box that has heavily modified, basic android versions on it. We have Xiaomi phones and have been extremely happy with them so decided to take the leap on this. We’re happy we did! It’s fast and really easy to use.The only gripe we have with it is that it’s missing Hulu and Prime Video apps. We couldn’t believe it when we saw; I assumed it would have the full Play-Store and we would just download all of the apps we want like normal. This wasn’t the case, apparently Hulu has had performance issues on the platform in the past and they decided to pull it off of the market until it’s fixed. It’s been off the market for months now from what I’ve read, and I don’t expect Hulu to jump on it anytime soon. Amazon and Google of course have a strenuous relationship and as such Android TV’s don’t have Prime Video available on it, and least not currently. For Hulu, I was able to download a legacy .apk of the app, and install it manually. It worked! I tried the same method for Prime Video, but it wouldn’t let me log-in properly. I can personally live without Prime Video and Hulu, but my fiance would become monstrous if she didn’t have access to Hulu. These are the biggest complaints I have with this box, and it really isn’t the boxes fault so I place blame on Google, Amazon, and Disney (Disney owns Hulu). It’s funny because although Hulu isn’t available and arguably neglected by Disney on Android OS, Disney+ works perfectly fine.Regardless, the box performs like a beast and I have been loving it for Netflix, Hulu, Plex, Kodi, Sling TV, Pluto TV, etc, etc, etc and haven’t had issues. Overall it’s a great bang for your buck, but if you can’t live without Prime Video or don’t have the know-how to manually install Hulu, then you may want to look elsewhere for now.

Very disappointed. Would not run the peacock app properly. And because of a feud between mecool and Netflix you cannot download the Netflix app from the Google play store. You have to side load the Moble Version of Netflix. And it does not play in HD The best resolution you could get is 576p and you cannot use a regular remote you have to have an mouse or something similar. That’s not the main reason I returned it I could live without a couple apps I will watch them on my smart TV but the big reason I returned it is . The HDR Or high dynamic range setting is always stuck on on. So everything that is in 1080 P is not hdr and it makes everything look way over Saturated with color. It’s like you turned the color all the way up on the TV and left it like that and that’s how you have to watch it . No thank you. Like I said very very disappointed. Although Amazon was very good with their customer service and returned my money immediately that’s one thing I could say about Amazon they really take care of their customers.

We purchased this box as an upgrade from an older Nvidia Shield TV. Currently there are few Android TV (running actual AndroidTV instead of regular Android) boxes on the market advertised with built-in Wifi 6 capabilities. When we found this box, we were hopeful that we could stream 4K content from our local Plex server without any buffering or stuttering, but upon firing up some content to test, we found this box did not perform any better than the Shield. I then installed a web browser from the Play Store to run proper speed tests. For reference, I ran the same tests with a laptop with an Intel AX200 Wifi 6 chipset. We have a speedtest server on our LAN to reduce ISP bandwidth variance. Here are the numbers we see from that in the same spot (actually a few feet further from the router):Download: 650mbpsUpload: 635mbpsThen, using the same speed test on the LAN, here is where the MeCool KM6 Deluxe sits:Download: 95mbpsUpload: 70mbpsThe speeds from the MeCool KM6 are much closer to the same laptop used in the tests above prior to upgrading the Wifi from Wifi 5 to Wifi 6. In my testing, I’ve found these speeds are insufficient to stream 4K content from high quality sources without stutters and buffering (and even some 1080p content, depending on the bitrate). That said, if you’re in a situation where you can run an ethernet cable to the box, you can run it hardwired and might have better results.Moving onto the rest of the box, it’s largely similar to a regular AndroidTV box. The remote is nice, has buttons for the basics and a few app shortcuts, without being too simplistic (like the earlier Nvidia Shield remote) or too much, and it runs using standard AAA batteries. There’s a nice selection of settings to play with, though our box seems to project an HDR signal regardless of whether there’s HDR content on the screen or if it’s connected to an HDR-capable device. It also doesn’t seem to have the same app selection via the Play Store as the Nvidia Shield does.At the current price point of this device, it’s hard to recommend over other AndroidTV or set-top devices. if you need a small box sub $150 with the AndroidTV interface, this could fit the bill, but there are also other boxes on the market at lower prices than this. If you require a device that can achieve higher wifi speeds, I’d look elsewhere.

Where is the instructions? The short paper seems to be all about how I have to download the software to a TF card. Is this thing really that old to use TF cards? At this point I am very disappointed with the produce and Amazon.

I purchased this box to be my primary streaming device on our primary living room television. It was always very hard to get the box to come on with the remote control. I would have to press the power button many times to get it on and sometimes even have to unplug and replug it in to get it to come on. That was a nuisance but the final straw was when it would no longer connect to my WIFI and I even tried connecting the box with an ethernet cable and it would not recognize the connection therefore making the box useless to me or anyone else. I even reset it to the factory reset and it still would not recognize my WIFI or ethernet connection. I had it for 5 months when it finally quit for good. I purchased a NVIDIA Shield TV Box and it is working spectacularly. I would never buy a Mecool product again.

Same exact x6 pro without upgrade!!! Just a paper sticker saying x6 pro H, poor functionality, the arial was broken, exact size and shape of the old one, NOT 64 as advertised but 32, when trying to hook it, it produces sounds of broken things inside. Don’t buy it, I want to return it, however I am sure the company will deny shipping a broken tv box.Very frustrating. Don’t waste your money.

The outlook really draws my attention, it looks so cute. My daughter also likes it. Beside the outlook, the price also reasonable given it has 8 gb capacity! While others might cost higher. I just dont want to spend hundreds of dollar if I can get the same quality. The stability is good and carries out all the Android function well. So far been used a month and the Wifi signal pretty stable without interruption or other delay, pretty satisfy on the speed and stability. There are couple of ports in the back and make it more convenience. Installation is also easy, only takes me 5 minutes to set up everything, all you need is to follow the prompt. Remote also in nice shape, easy to use, I just hate complex thing so this box and remote work for me. It is a good buy!

Doesn’t stream 4k. Bought it to stream HBOMAX and VuDu 4k, Atmos surround. HBOMAX won’t even play 4k and VuDu Doesn’t even register 4k, only gives HDX as option. These both work great on my Nvidea Shield.
