My Amcrest 1080P wouldn’t work at all with this POE switch and my IPCam IPCC-7210E only works during the day. I can only assume the IPCC-7210E requires more power at night. It worked perfectly with the included POE injector. I contacted TP-Link support and was asked to email my problems and they would research and respond. I sent the email a week ago and have never received a reply.

I have Fios Quantum Router with Gigabyte. I have two Axis cameras attached to the poe side. After two months the switch stopped working. I noticed that not only did my cameras go offline, but thatmy entire network went down -including my external wi-fi Amplifi system. Also, I have noticed that my cameras are intermittently going offline.Customer support is virtually non existent as others have noted.STAY AWAY!

I bought this switch specifically to power PoE security cameras. I currently have two cameras installed: a JideTech camera, and an Amcrest camera. As soon as I got the switch, I plugged in both cameras. The switch powered up the Amcrest camera but it would not power up the JideTech. Both cameras have the same PoE specs, despite being made by different manufacturers. It so happens that I also ordered an Amcrest switch with PoE capabilities. At first I thought the JideTech camera was perhaps buggy, but when the Amcrest switch arrived, I moved both cameras to it, and both cameras powered up without problem.Other reviewers have reported devices that work fine with other switches but don’t power up at all with the TP-Link. So right now the evidence points to the TP-Link switch being buggy.Playing PoE roulette with a buggy switch ain’t my cup of tea.

I’ve bought a lot (yes, a LOT) of TP-Link products in the past and have generally been satisfied. However with this TL-SG1210P switch I am utterly disappointed.1. This is a PoE switch (802.3af), not PoE+ switch (802.3at), according to the Ruckus R710 wireless access point connected to it. The Ruckus is the ONLY PoE device connected to it, and the switch’s status light does not indict any power budget overage. I chose this switch specifically for its claimed 802.3at capability as 802.3af does not provide enough power for Ruckus R710, forcing it to operate at reduced capabilities.2. I then tried to contact TP-Link technical support. The chat page on their website hangs indefinitely. I called the 800 number and was put on hold for more than 30 minutes when I just gave up.TP-Link folks — if you are reading this review, please understand that you can’t sell an “business” product in the US this way. Your product needs to conform to its published specs, and you need to have a reachable technical support during normal business hours. Otherwise you might as well say no support is provided. That’d be much better than wasting your customers’ time before they realize that you really have no support!

I’ve been doing layer 2 networking for 20 years and I’m also a software engineer. This switch is randomly shutting down ports typically for 3-4 seconds, occasionally up to around 4.5 seconds. My laptop will show no network connection and the link light goes out when the port it’s connected to shuts down. Do NOT buy this switch. It’s not reliable. I returned the first device for a replacement. The second device is also exhibiting the same problem. I tested on 4 other switches and the problem doesn’t appear. I feel I’ve given this a fair shake. The switch has some fundamental issues that needs to be addressed by NETGEAR.*** 2021-02-16 UPDATE ***Worked with NETGEAR on this issue. Their support is really good, so thank you NETGEAR!!! I’m still not sure what the underlying problem is but after more troubleshooting I believe I have solid information about what’s going on. I have two laptops that have the same problem, one much worse than another. I have a third laptop and a desktop computer that don’t have any problems with the switch. There appears to be either a hardware compatibility issue or driver issue with the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller cards. On the two laptops with the Realtek network adapter that exhibited problems, I tested using a TP-Link USB to Ethernet adapter. That adapter works fine and shows no problems with the switch. At this point I don’t plan to change my rating (1 star) but I do recant my earlier statement pointing fingers at NETGEAR. As I stated earlier, it’s unknown where the problem exists. At the end of the day my recommendation is to avoid this product until the problem is resolved by either Realtek or NETGEAR or both.

This isn’t a POE switch. If you plan to supply power to, say, IP cameras, YOU HAVE TO BUY A DIFFERENT SWITCH.I’m old and stupid, didn’t know, and missed my return window. You want the GS110TPv3 for POE connections.I brought this by mistake and ib didn’t use it until I wired my very extensive security system. When I plugged my cameras in, and didn’t have power, I spent time with their very professional customer service to find out this wasn’t a POE device. To use this, I had to register the device, upload an app and make an account. Unlike the TP-link device I purchased to replace this, which was l literally plug and play.Although NETGEAR customer service was ok, they wouldn’t let me return the device I had and I’m out $60 (or whatever this cost).Wouldn’t recommend purely for customer support and returns deficient.

I was skeptical with it being so inexpensive that it was not going to work, but I have to admit it has been working just as it should. So far no issues with powering 4 POE cameras (2 Dahua & 2 Reolink).Positive:++ Price – for < $30 I am amazed.++ Has a slot for an SFP module so it can be connected with fiber. This was excellent for me as I wanted a POE switch that I could place in the garage to connect my POE cameras on the front of the house and connect it back via fiber. This provides a non-conductive air-gap in case a camera takes a lightning strike it will not take out the main $800 USW-Enterprise-24-PoE switch in the house.++ Metal housingNegative:– Has holes for mounting ears, but no ears included in the box.

Normally I stick to netgear or linksys, but decided to try this due to the huge price difference. It is powering 2 POE cameras flawlessly. I have only used it a few weeks, but will be sure to update the review if I have any problems later.

My entrance gate is several hundred feet from my home, too far to run a wired or wifi connection to my home network. The gate has a camera and a remote video ‘phone. This switch is perfect for the application, connecting to the home network via fiber and both powering and connecting the two gate devices. The fiber connection between the gate and house has an added benefit of providing a lightning air gap: lightning strikes don’t propagate along fiber. This device is literally one sixth the cost of the “professional A/V installer” product originally at the gate, which lasted 18 months, twice.
